What is Metaphor ?

Metaphor is when you use two nouns and compare or contrast them to one another. Unlike simile, you don't use "like" or "as" in the comparison.

Below is the examples of Metaphor :

  • Her home was a prison.

  • Time is a thief.

  • Life is a precious possession, death is a loss.

  • She has a heart of gold.

  • A rainbow of flavors.

  • My memory is a little cloudy about that incident.

  • It is raining cats and dogs.

  • His head was spinning with ideas.

  • The policeman let him off with a yellow card.

  • You light up my life with your presence.
